How to battle high sugars during this Halloween:

Many of our kids this evening will come home with a buckets of treats. The next couple of days everyone at home will be consuming maybe over 2 cups of sugar just from these treats alone. Heres somethings you can do to help you through this sugar-load:

Drink lots of water, today, tomorrow and thereafter. Make sure you get a least 8 glasses each day. Cut down on alcohol consumption. Water will be a better choice, particularly with these sugars around.

Move, move, move... its a good thing that youll be doing a bit of walking with the kids this evening, youre ahead already. But id you got the door-duty, make time to get your heart pumping, raising your pulse for a few minutes each day to burn off some of those calories from these added sugars.

Eat foods with great source of protein. This will help you feel fuller, and help you consume less of those treats in one seating. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables so you dont crave as much from the bucket of candies.

Drink green tea, eat berries, consume foods that are high in antioxidants. Antioxidants lower blood sugar.

Stay safe this evening.
